Hello! We are Opinew, a product review company. We are a small team with a great mission to help online stores become independent from Amazon/eBay. We make it easy to move over their hard-earned reviews into Shopify.
We also enable Shopify merchants to collect reviews from their customers in every possible way (email, SMS, printed).
Some of the brands you may recognize that use our review system include MSI, MusclePharm, Status Anxiety, Celestron, and Betron.
We are part of Shop Circle, the largest operator of e-commerce tools which is rapidly growing. You can read about our latest $120M funding round here.
Opis posla
We use Vuejs for our front end and our backend is based on Flask/Python. Everything is deployed via an automated CI/CD pipeline (Gitlab) to AWS.
Opinew is in the scaling stage - our core feature set is expanding slower than before as we focus more on how to scale our core system to be used by thousands of new users.
You can expect to work on building well-researched, meaningful features that delight our merchants and at the same time making the rest of the existing app more beautiful, intuitive, and simple to use.
Looking ahead, we are excited about using generative AI in different ways, including generating review replies for shops. We can’t wait to hear what other ideas you have.
You will be leading a team of 1 backend engineer and 2 frontend engineers. All of our engineers are responsible for completing new features and writing unit tests. Our devs own the features they develop - which will be used by over 5,000 online shops.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced, talented full-stack engineer to lead the engineering team and help us scale Opinew to the next level.
This position is for full-time work in our fresh new office in the center of Sarajevo. Hybrid work is possible.
We would expect you to:

Kvalifikacije
For this role, you must have:
- Experience in working as part of a team to ship high-quality software.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.
- Experience in Python backend frameworks like Flask/Django
- Experience in developing UI with Vuejs/React/Angular
- Experience in e-commerce and Shopify beneficial.
